Senior Hardware Engineer

Description:
Design and develop electronic products for industrial and embedded systems.  Position entails design of new products, extension of current product lines, and sustaining work on mature product lines.  Products are focused on wired and wireless device networking and device connectivity.  Creativity and initiative are two important characteristics of the successful candidate.  Position will be based in Northeast Ohio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Cost-effective design of high-volume electronic products.
  • Development of product specifications.
  • Schematic creation and entry.
  • Work closely with PCB designer to optimize board layouts.
  • Prototype, test, and drive products into production.
  • Creation of test plans.
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving, including root cause failure analysis.
  • Creation of documentation such as user manuals and datasheets.
  • Characterization and evaluation of 802.11 radio performance.
  • Work with outside lab for Regulatory compliance and testing, e.g. FCC, CE.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years equivalent work experience.
  • Successful design of high-volume electronic products.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • Highly desirable skills and experience include:
    • Use of RF test equipment
    • Analog design skills
    • Wireless protocol experience (Zigbee, Bluetooth, RFID, etc.)


Senior Test Engineer

Description:
Design and develop detailed and extensive test suites for electronic products used in industrial and embedded systems.  Position entails creating tests for new products as well as enhancing and automating current test implementations.  Products are focused on wired and wireless device networking and device connectivity.  Creativity and initiative are two important characteristics of the successful candidate.  Position will be based in Northeast Ohio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interoperability testing of device networking and device connectivity products.
  • Work closely with product design engineers to develop thorough test plans.
  • Develop and implement automated test strategies.
  • Maintain controlled documents covering test procedures and setups.
  • Determine equipment needs and evaluate test equipment.
  • Manage test servers and multiple concurrent test fixtures.
  • Assist other engineers in debugging, troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Characterize and evaluate 802.11 radio performance.
  • Use defect tracking system during testing and after product release.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years equivalent work experience, including regression testing experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of 802.11/EAP/WPA2 authentication protocols.
  • Familiarity with Chariot test suite and RADIUS servers.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • Must be familiar with typical engineering test equipment.
  • Highly desirable skills and experience include:
    • Use of RF test equipment
    • Other wireless protocol experience (Zigbee, Bluetooth, RFID, etc.)

Marketing Coordinator

Description:
Implement marketing communications activities in various media, ensuring quality, accuracy and timeliness. Delivers optimized communications through web site, other internet-related vehicles, print materials, advertising, direct mail/ email campaigns, list management, trade shows, electronic media and public relations activities. Position contributes in the creative process of all advertising activities. Position will be based in Northeast Ohio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementation of marketing communications activities, including writing, design and web related activities to promote company’s products via advertising, direct mail or email campaigns
  • Participate in creative planning of all the companies marketing activity
  • Deliver consistent, relevant messaging that supports overall brand strategy
  • Manage website updates and changes
  • Measure and report on results of marketing campaigns
  • Measure and report on website analytics

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in marketing, communications or related field.
  • 2-5 years equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated writing and graphic design skills
  • Web marketing skills and experience (including design, search engine optimization, analytics)

OEM Sales Manager - Eastern U.S.

Description:
Quatech seeks an energetic OEM Sales Manager for its fast-growing embedded wireless module business.  Ideal candidate will have a strong track record in wireless module or semiconductor sales, and experience directly managing relationships with Tier 1 OEM accounts.  Must be able to work independently, as well as with a cross-functional team to ensure superior customer support.  Position will be based in Northeast Ohio, and will require up to 50% travel.

Responsibilities include:

  • Generating new business with OEM customers in targeted vertical markets (including industrial, medical, transportation, mobile enterprise).
  • Presenting Quatech’s embedded wireless value proposition to a technical audience.
  • Responding to RFQ’s from existing and new customers.
  • OEM account management from the start of the design cycle through production.
  • Managing manufacturers’ rep firms located throughout the region
  • Maintaining accurate revenue and production forecasts.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree (technical background preferred).
  • Proficient in PC-based applications, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Polished oral and written communication skills.

Field Application Engineer - Eastern U.S./Europe

Description:
Quatech seeks a Field Applications Engineer for its fast-growing embedded wireless module business.  Ideal candidate will have a strong track record in wireless module or semiconductor support, and have recent experience directly interfacing and supporting Tier 1 OEM accounts.  Must be able to work independently, as well as with a cross-functional team to ensure superior customer support.  Position will be based in Northeast Ohio, and will require up to 50% travel.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide direct technical support for strategic OEM customers in targeted vertical markets (including industrial, medical, transportation, mobile enterprise).
  • Assist customers in the integration of Quatech wireless products into embedded systems.
  • Present Quatech’s embedded wireless value proposition and products to a technical audience.
  • Travel with Sales personnel and manufacturers representatives to customer sights for sales and technical meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years related experience.
  • Electrical/Electronics based Bachelor’s degree.
  • An in depth knowledge of 802.11, TCP/IP networking, WLAN infrastructure, RF basics, embedded system design, digital electronics
  • Ability to program using ‘C’ or comparable programming language and experience of Linux, Windows and WinCE OS programming preferred.
  • Proficient in PC-based applications, including MSWord, MSExcel, MSPowerPoint and MSOutlook.
  • Polished oral, written and presentation skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Foreign language a benefit.


Inside Sales Networking Application Engineer

Description:
This individual is responsible for providing pre- and post-sales support by phone/email to customers for network connectivity products. He/she will be involved with inside sales support directly corresponding to incoming customer calls and applications. This individual will also place targeted outbound phone calls to increase active qualified database. In addition, the position will be responsible for providing pre-sales customer support on product applications and application improvement.

Requirements include:
  • 2- 5 years sales or technical support experience
  • Strong technical background in Ethernet network topologies and associated devices
  • Engineering / Computer Science Degree preferred, or work experience and certifications such as MCDST, MSCA or MSCE
  • Strong knowledge of PC operating systems: MS Windows required; Linux, Windows CE preferred
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills for interacting with customers over phone and email
