FOR RELEASE July 18, 2006
802.11 Wireless Solution Provider Quatech Now Available at Ingram Micro Canada
Hudson, OH, July 18, 2006 – Quatech Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of DPAC Technologies Corp. (OTCBB: DPAC) and a leader in 802.11 wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity solutions, today announced the availability of their device networking and connectivity product line in Canada through the Canadian operations of Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM), the world's largest technology distributor.
While Quatech products have been available in Canada since the early 1990s, Ingram Micro is the first broadline global IT distributor to offer the products in Canada, expanding the exposure and customer support for one of the broadest product lines in device networking and connectivity. Thousands of resellers, system integrators and OEMs worldwide have used Quatech products since 1983 to enhance their products and systems that require connectivity capability.
“Quatech is excited to begin this relationship with Ingram Micro, a world-class technology distributor in all ways,” said Steve Runkel, CEO of Quatech. “As the leader in the M2M space, serving the customer has been our focus since our founding in 1983 and Ingram Micro shares that same level of commitment.”
Ingram Micro Canada will carry Quatech’s industry-leading device networking products, including their high performance line of 802.11 wireless device servers and wired ethernet-to-serial Device Servers. The AirborneDirect™ line of wireless device servers offer industrial features such as extended operating temperatures and extended shock and vibration tolerance. In addition, Ingram Micro Canada will carry all of the products in Quatech’s device connectivity product family, including USB Serial Adapters, Serial PCMCIA Cards and PCI and Universal PCI Serial Boards.
“Strengthening our linecard to include Quatech products provides our customers with access to cutting edge, niche products once not available to them through distribution, and opens the door for our solution provider customers to offer larger, more profitable networking solutions,” said Martin Kalsbeek, general manager and vice president, Ingram Micro Canada. “We’re excited to work with Quatech, the leader in the M2M connectivity space, to expand the reach of their products throughout the Canadian marketplace.”
