FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

QUATECH INTRODUCES INDUSTRIAL USB TO SERIAL PRODUCT FAMILY
New Industrial USB RS-232/422/485 serial adapters configured in ruggedized metal case with terminal block connections, wide range power input, and 3000VDC optical isolation

HUDSON, OHIO – April, 13, 2010 – Quatech, Inc., a division of DPAC Technologies (OTCBB:  DPAC.OB), and leader in wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) networking solutions, today announced the expansion of their current Industrial product line with the availability of its new USB2.0 RS-232/422/485 serial adapters with expanded features to meet demanding applications. The new USB product additions follow Quatech’s recent announcement of Airborne Industrial Wireless Serial Device Servers and Industrial Ethernet Adapters to build upon products designed for serving the requirements of Industrial markets and applications.

Quatech’s Industrial USB RS-232/422/485 serial product line gives your PC workstation or laptop the ability to communicate with up to four RS-232 or RS-422/485 serial peripherals thru a USB port. The High Speed USB2.0 Serial Adapters add standard COM port(s) via USB connection and are compatible with new and legacy serial devices. The Industrial USB Multiport Serial adapters provide DB9 (RS-232) and Terminal Block (RS-422/485) connections on each individual com port for installation convenience. Each port is configurable for RS-232 or RS-422/485 allowing flexibility to connect a variety of serial devices thru a single unit. All units are in a ruggedized metal enclosure and provide visual LED indication of power, USB ready and data transmit/receive per individual port.  The Model QSU2-540 and QSU2-540IS Industrial USB Serial Adapters are the ideal solution for demanding applications including industrial automation/control, material handling/logistics and laboratory test/measurement where a robust and ruggedized solution is required.

Quatech's Industrial USB to Multiport Serial adapters are also available with optional 3000V DC to DC Optical Isolation to provide the highest degree of system protection between device and computer. While the units are USB bus powered and require no additional power input, a variable DC voltage power input option is provided via terminal block if optional VCC output on pin 9 is used in RS-232 applications requiring additional power to external serial devices.

Quatech continues to offer and expand the industry’s most extensive line of device connectivity and networking solutions for both external and embedded applications. Quatech’s high performance, industrial grade families provide secure connectivity and serial/parallel port expansion via many interface options including Wired and Wireless Ethernet, USB, PCI, PCI Express, Expresscard and PCMCIA adapters.
