FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Quatech Ships Initial 802.11a/b/g Wireless Products for Medical Equipment Applications
New embedded solutions based around highly secure Airborne Performance Radio

Hudson, OH, September 4, 2007 - Quatech Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of DPAC Technologies Corp. (OTCBB:  DPAC) and a leader in 802.11 wireless machine-to-machine (M2M) connectivity solutions, announced today that it will ship 802.11a/b/g wireless products to a leading medical device original equipment manufacturer (OEM).  The collaboration and announcement is based upon Quatech’s latest product launch of the Airborne Performance Embedded Radio line.  This milestone represents a significant step, as Quatech continues to expand its wireless product portfolio and presence in the healthcare industry.

“Quatech is excited about the accelerating growth of 802.11 wireless in medical applications’” said Steve Runkel, President and CEO of Quatech.  “We are happy to participate in a robust market that enables hospitals to improve both efficiency and provide better patient care with industry-leading wireless technology.”  Runkel continued, “Current projections indicate that the healthcare industry will be a significant growth contributor in Quatech’s Airborne wireless business, which now accounts for more than 30% of total company revenue.”

The new Airborne Performance Radio is Quatech’s third-generation embedded 802.11 radio, and provides both 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz functionality in a small form factor.  Compatible with 802.11a and 802.11b/g wireless local area networks, the Airborne Performance Radio supports the latest 802.11i security standards.  Support for a broad range of EAP supplicants is included, enabling OEM customers to implement WPA2 Enterprise level security support.

The Airborne Performance Radio’s dual-band architecture features an 802.11a secure radio, which enables hospitals to take advantage of the 5.8 GHz wireless spectrum, and allows for flexible selection of wireless LAN infrastructure.  With higher data rates, less probability of interference, seamless advanced mobility and improved Wi-Fi coverage, the 802.11a standard is well suited for the healthcare market.  Moreover, Quatech has implemented advanced power management and Quality of Service (QoS) features to further enhance wireless solutions for the medical device industry.

The release of the 802.11a/b/g wireless product extends Quatech’s streak of successes in the healthcare industry.  Since 2005, Quatech wireless products have been deployed across a range of medical applications, including patient monitoring, medical imaging, electrocardiograph (ECG) and blood collection equipment.  In addition to healthcare, Quatech also provides customized and standard embedded 802.11 wireless solutions for an array of OEM customers in the mobile enterprise, transportation and industrial markets.
