Ethernet to 802.11b/g Wireless LAN Bridge (embedded board only)
Airborne is a family of fully integrated 802.11 wireless device server and ethernet bridge products designed to provide wireless LAN and Internet connectivity to transportation, medical, warehouse logistics, POS, industrial, military and scientific applications.
The highly integrated hardware and software enables plug-and-play capability. This significantly reduces the complexity of wireless system deployment and network connectivity. Integrating Airborne with existing OEM platforms can significantly enhance the product's value and functionality giving the OEM a competitive advantage
The Airborne Ethernet Bridge Board creates a connection between an 802.11 wireless LAN and a device with an Ethernet port. The board-only version is a convenient way to embed all the functionality of the external unit (that has an enclosure) into an OEM application. It transparently conveys data between the device with a 10 Base-T or 10/100 Ethernet interface and a wireless LAN. The Bridge opens up the world or remote device monitoring and management, enabling many applications the ability to wirelessly connect to the LAN or Internet.
The most advanced 802.11 solution for Ethernet clients. The Airborne Enterprise Ethernet Bridge is a fully functional NAT Level 3 router, supporting a public IP address for the wireless interface and a private network for the attached devices on the wired interface. NAT3 features include:
- Simplified integration with existing Ethernet device
- Supports 10/100 Ethernet hardware interface
- Supports DHCP and static IP on wired side.
- Web based management on both wired and wireless interfaces.
- True plug-n-play for wired host.
- Single point of authentication on target network
- Authentication for all of the latest security requirements handled by Quatech device server/bridge
- Zero security footprint on host
- No impact or upgrade required by wired host to support the latest security (WPA2 Enterprise)
- Support for multiple Ethernet clients on wired interface.
- Integrated firewall
- Support for advanced port forwarding
Quatech's Airborne Embedded 802.11 Ethernet Bridge Boards provide 802.11 wireless access to medical equipment such as Plasma Collection and Analysis Systems, enabling for patient records to be transferred to the hospital network.
Airborne Embedded Ethernet Bridges have been integrated and deployed into a wide range of applications across various industries including:
- Vehicle telematics & diagnostics
- Material handling & logistics
- Industrial Automation
- Test & measurement
- Security & access control
