One Quatech customer is using our PCMCIA card drives to implement GPS referenced field monitoring systems on their large farm. The system is attached to their combine which saves yield information on PCMCIA card. The system is also used on their spraying tractor as a parallel tracking system. It tracks up to 12 GPS satellites and guides the operator to drive straight up and down the field to minimize overlap and missed spots, and also allows them to spray accurately at night. Data from these systems is subsequently transferred onto a PC via a Quatech PCMCIA card drive, and the computer creates contour maps of the yields from the fields. The PCMCIA cards also contain programming instructions for the system, and the card drives permits this software to be updated on the PC and then transferred to the GPS monitoring system.
