Global positioning system (GPS) receivers can be lifesavers when you
are lost in a strange town. Using Microsoft Streets and Trips 2005, or any other GPS navigation software program as part of an in-vehicle navigation system can provide directions when you are lost, help plan trips in advance, or even point you to the closest rest area. The system depicted below is implemented using Quatech's GPSR-001B Bluetooth GPS receiver. This product is particularly well suited for long driving trips because its battery lasts p to 20 hours on a single charge. In addition, because it does not need to be physically connected to a PC or handheld PC, it can be placed anywhere in the vehicle in order to maximize signal reception.
