Application: Field Flash Upgrades
Quatech Products Used: SSCF-200/300 single port RS-422/485 serial CompactFlash card

Materials testing stations, like the one pictured in the diagram below, are easily maintained with handheld PCs equipped with Serial CompactFlash Cards. The serial interface can be used for monitoring the system, performing standard maintenance tasks, and troubleshooting systems problems. In this particular case, the test stand is Field-Flash upgradeable. Using Quatech's SSCF-200/300 to provide a RS-422/485 serial port, the machine's program can be updated as often as necessary with a minimum of downtime.
